Our History

Since its foundation, the Georgia Institute of Technology has been a leader in manufacturing. Georgia Tech, fourth-ranked U.S. engineering school according to U.S. News and World Report, continues this tradition of excellence through world-class teaching and cutting-edge research that includes real-world applications. In 2013, the Georgia MBDA Business Center launched a national manufacturing initiative through supplemental funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA). Now in its sixth year, the National MBE Manufacturers Summit has attracted over 700 manufacturers, corporations, and organizations from 28 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Washington, D.C.

The Georgia MBDA Business Center’s Advanced Manufacturing program focuses on advancing a national ecosystem of MBE manufacturers, partners, and stakeholders. It creates expansion opportunities for MBE manufacturers by facilitating growth through innovation and technology, training and education, and advocating for inclusiveness with corporate suppliers.

Why Become a Center-Level Sponsor?

Increase Outreach & Market Presence

Being a Center-Level Sponsor will increase your promotional outreach and market presence in the MBE manufacturing and business communities. Sponsorship funds will be designated to signature and industry-specific events hosted by the Atlanta MBDA Advanced Manufacturing Center and the Atlanta MBDA Business Center. As a Center Sponsor, you will receive logo placement on both Centers’ websites, event promotions and signage, recognition in all marketing campaigns, opportunities to refer speakers for events, and access to all MBEs associated with both Centers.

Become a Part of History

The National MBE Manufacturers Summit launched in 2016 as the first of its kind and is now an annual event. Until now, a manufacturing industry-specific event exclusively for national MBE manufacturers, supply chain decision makers, and stakeholders with a focus on innovation, technology, and business-to-business matchmaking did not exist. Not only is the Center-Level Sponsorship the most crucial to Summit success, but also the most beneficial level for your company. This sponsorship level will augment your corporate supplier diversity efforts, provide you access to vetted MBEs, and extend your manufacturing and business outreach.

Become a Member of the Atlanta MBDA Advanced Manufacturing Center Advisory Council

The Center-Level Sponsorship includes membership on the Advisory Council. This team of industry leaders, corporate executives, and MBE executives provides high-level input into the Center’s overall direction. The group also assists with content development and promotions for the National MBE Manufacturers Summit.
